Happy that he can fulfill the blacksmith's request he begins to gut the beast and remove any excess as it will be a heavy carry back to the village.
After skinning and gutting the animal he looks for a place to let it hang for a bit. Feeling hungry he cuts a bit off and lights a small fire to have a small meal before he heads back to the village.
After charring the meat for a bit he eats and positively shakes his own head in agreement about how well it tastes. "The villagers will love this one" He says while licking his index finger and thumb.
He rests for awhile and then decides how he will carry the load on his back back to the village. Next time he will need to buy a horse to carry it.
The trek back to the village is long and slow. Tanis has to take regular stops to catch his breath and give his back some ease from the weight of the animal.
After a very tiring trip back to his home Tanis is too tired to even visit the blacksmith about his hunt. He puts the kill on his table and sits back in a chair while drinking water from his waterskin.
Before he would take the meat over he needed a rest. It was too much to hunt, gut and then carry the beast all the way back to the village. Without even a second thought he was already sleeping deeply on his chair. The water skin falls from his grasp on to the floor.
After what seemed like a couple of hours Tanis decided that he was rested enough and made his way to the blacksmith's castle to deliver his meat.
