Perhaps people have one reason, but when they find out how diverse this site is they find a new "favorite" topic. I for one have loved the LDS Deep Doctrine portion. In fact I think I've only posted twice (this being the second) on other forums.

For me - lately the main reason to log on is to investigate different topics. Often times a discussion will come up with coworkers or friends in which I don't necessarily have a good understading of how to respond. It's great to learn more about topics from others that are here. I must admit that lately when I frequent this place I do it without logging in so unfortunately it looks like I am not here very often.

I guess I am the sole exception, because my reason for being here was the reason I found this place - LDS doctrine. And for a long time, that was my most visited location. Recently it shifted to Medieval, but only after I had gone through all the recent doctrine threads, posted my opinion, and the discussion failed to continue. So in essence, the community environment has caused the shift (hint: always something going on at Medieval).

I truly believe that people initially come here seeking for something, but then it changes and their real reason for being here is often hidden.
