Nightmares RPG Rules

Copyright Info

First of all, I desire to declare, as with all other RPGs here, that this is an original custom built RPG and is not to be copied in any way or form without expressed written consent of the Administrator of this site, which is of course me, Jean Borde of BGID®. All the text, storyline, images, code and so forth have been developed by the same and is available for use by the public according to the terms herein and the general rules of this Community.

Is this Free?

Nightmares RPG is not only Free for anyone to participate, but it has no requirement for RPG status! All you have to do is register your Membership in this Community, make your introduction post and that is it! Now you may be wondering why there is no need for RPG status, and the reason is very simple, so long as you have FP (Forum Points) to play you can do so. The way the script works is based on how much FP you have: every move, especially progressive moves require FP, so the more you spend, the more you can participate. You earn FP by posting messages in this Community, Rating Us, or Upgrading. There is a thread that deals more specifically with FP here: How Do I Earn FP?

The Story Behind Nightmares RPG

In this dismal world during the darkest of the Dark Ages, some desolate place where common folk do not often attend, there was once born healthy twins, both male, to an aged mystic woman who thought that her ability to conceive had ended long ago.

At the age of twelve both boys were already quite learned in the ancient arts of the land, but there was something curiously different between the two: one had the ways of valor, honor and kindness, while the other seemed to be dark, hateful and seeking to do mischief where possible. The differences in behavior and attitudes within these two boys became more apparent each day, it was almost as if something had taken their agency, controlled them and use them for their own unseen means. The dark dreams of the night continued for many nights, but not as much as it did when they layed down to sleep during one particular evening:

This particular gloomy night when the young men retired they as usual dreamt... but no ordinary dream was it... no, they would have Nightmares. These Nightmares surrounded a great battle field in a land similar to their own. On both sides of approaching armies were the forces of both Good and Evil. The boy that was kind and goodly had Nightmares of thousands of imps, horde of thieves, assassins, goulds and demonic monsters of all shapes and sizes coming up from the muddy ground to attack him. Conversely the boy with mischievous heart had Nightmares of a great blue sky full of brilliant angels carrying swords of swift judgement, silver armored knights and battle clad clerics coming to call judgement upon his head. On this particular eve they had a Nightmare that would ssupersedeall Nightmares previously visualized - they would fight each other....

What happens in this dream... is Nightmares RPG: Good vs. Evil.

Rules Rpg Nightmare

The Dice Master says...

The Objective

The objective of Nightmares RPG is to gain as much power as you can and then with this power - conquer the battlefield as a representative of either Good or Evil, depending on which side you are fighting on.

How Do I Start?

Follow these easy instructions to begin:

1. Register FREE and become a Member of the Community

2. Validate your Email address by clicking on the link given you

3. Post your Introduction Message as is required (you will be prompted to do this)

4. Proceed to create your army by going over to the Genesis Page

  • On this page you will be given the option to fight for the side of Good or Evil, you must understand that this is the ONLY time you will be able to make this decision, you cannot change it once game play has started.
  • You will also be given options to build up your army, but of course you may not have enough FP to do so as yet. You can earn FP based on the tips given here.
5. After you have saved your information you will then be taken to an Army page that shows the results of your choices. This Army page can be considered your status in the game as it shows what you have and how you are progressing.

6. You may then visit the Battlefield, this is where you can see where each Player's Army is located.

7. You may then choose to make a Move which allows you to make decisions about your location vs. other Players. For instance you may wish to attack, defend, communicate, etc. You can only make ONE turn per day, so use it wisely. If you do not show up to make your move then you lose it - it is as simple as that, so ensure you make it BEFORE the designated period as shown below.

8. At a designated period of time indicated on the Battlefield the GM will update the game based on all the information obtained from the Moves of those on the Battlefield and thus the game progresses.

9. When you have already used up your turn keep on doing the things necessary for your Army to progress, which of course boils down to the amount of FP you have - so go earn it!

10. See if your strategy leads you to conquer the Battlefield for the forces of Good or Evil.
