Do you use a Pedometer to track your steps made / calories burned per day? If so, has it helped you? What kind do you have and what can it do?

I used to use a pedometer, it was a freebie from McDonalds, and you could tell how many steps you had taken, and how many calories you had burnt off.
It wasn't very helpful to me, (my own doing) because as soon as I had burnt the calories off, I went and rewarded myself with a McDonalds chicken burger! 
I decided I'd be better off without it *smiles*
