Welcome to the forum! The RPGs here are quite detailed, and generally very nice. While I don't participate (I like to spend a few hours at a time on computer/console based RPGs), if you like text based games, I am sure you will enjoy these.

Please read Horde's links, as they will give you a lot of good information. One thing you need to know first of all is that you must post 30 constructive posts in the forum to participate, and then keep an activity rating of 75% (about 3 posts per day - average). This is to make sure that RPGers are also contributing to the forum.

So, I hope to see you on the boards. There are a lot of interesting discussions available!
