"When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men living together in society, they create for themselves, in the course of time, a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that glorifies it." - Fred Bastiat

I can agree to that statement. I hope that all people continue to relieve themselves of their debt and not get into it again.

The Second Great Depression History & Civil Business Politics

Don't be deceived when they tell you things are better now. Even if there's no poverty to be seen because the poverty's been hidden. Even if you ever got more wages and could afford to buy more of these new and useless goods which industries foist on you and even if it seems to you that you never had so much, that is only the slogan of those who still have much more than you. Don't be taken in when they paternally pat you on the shoulder and say that there's no inequality worth speaking of and no more reason to fight because if you believe them they will be completely in charge in their marble homes and granite banks from which they rob the people of the world under the pretence of bringing them culture. Watch out, for as soon as it pleases them they'll send you out to protect their gold in wars whose weapons, rapidly developed by servile scientists, will become more and more deadly until they can with a flick of the finger tear a million of you to pieces.
-- Jean Paul Marat

I do not think we will sink too much farther as things seem to be leveling out more. I hope that things start to look up but I guess we will have to wait to see exactly what does happen in the next two weeks. The Dow being down this week is not making it look good right now.

I think you will see the decent slow between now and spring then it will start to level out. Regrowth maybe next spring.

Bush is out nd Obama is in. Bush is leaving just when there is a terrible economic downturn and Obama is walking into the trap. I hope America can be patient because there isn't any wonder drug to fix this.

Did you notice that the Dow dropped over 4% today? And the NASDAQ dropped over *5%*!?!

I wonder what the history of stock market activity is for inauguration days, and whether it correlates to the incoming presidency's future approval ratings and performance?... (Hmm. Sounds like a new topic.)
