Marijuana decision sparks debate
A decision by the Mexican Supreme Court to permit an advocacy group to consume and produce marijuana has stirred debate. While petitions are calling for the decriminalization of marijuana, as many as 77 percent of Mexicans oppose it. Ref. Source 7o
I'm sure the idea of decriminalizing marijuana must be as tantalizing in Mexico as it is in the U.S. Being able to regulate the quality and amount of marijuana grown, taking one of the prizes out of the hands of the criminal gangs, and realizing new revenue streams from taxes will ensure that this topic stays on the table. One might think that if the walls against marijuana use come crumbling down in Mexico and it helps, might there not be a domino effect in neighboring countries?
