Recently, there has been a lot of controversy over women being pastors. While I am still undecided on whether I agree or disagree, I would love your input.
Also, for those who say that women shouldn't be pastors, when do you think a woman's authority stops? (ex. deacons, Sunday school teachers, etc)
Please try to back up your belief with scripture.
This is my personal belief only, and I am sure many won't agree with it!
I personally do not believe in women Pastors, I think it is a modern age trend, set so as not to upset the women of the world, or people trying to be 'politically correct' and not be sexist.
I don't know of any religion that had any women Pastors/deacons pre-1900's.
I suppose there may have been, but did they succeed or collapse?
I do not have a problem with women having any other role within church ie-- sunday school teacher, secretary, children's organizer etc.
I would personally take this from the example set by Jesus himself, he personally chose male disciples to pass on the word of God, and he never once chose a woman!
Before everyone starts shouting at me,I help out in Sunday School, I also help look after a severely handicapped child at another service, to enable his parents to hear Gods word, and I personally speak as a woman myself, so feel that I am not being sexist.
