Dinamo wins the Romanian SuperCup

Steaua - Dinamo: 2-3 (2-1)

Cup holder Dinamo Bucharest beat champion Steaua Bucharest to win the supercup in the opening game of the new season. It was a very good match, considering that both teams are at the beginning of the season. Steaua had a better start and at half time they were one goal ahead. Steaua's coach Oleg Protasov made all 3 substitutions early in the second half and he was unlucky, because Paraschiv - one of his key players was injured in the 70th min. Steaua played 15 min in 10 players. In 85th min, Niculescu got a red card after scoring for 3-2, so both team played in 10, but it was too late for Steaua.

Coach: Oleg Protasov

Dinamo: 1. Gaev - 2. Daouda, 4. Tamaº (sub. Goian), 5. MoþI, 3. Pulhac - 8. Fl. Petre, 6. Mãrgãritescu, 10. Grigorie, 22. Vl. Munteanu (sub. Zicu)- 21. Bratu (sub. Baltoi), 9. Niculescu

Football Romania

I am sorry, Raul, but I've never followed Romanian club football. Unfortunately it isn't as popular as some other European leagues (English, Spanish, Italian, etc). Since the season has just started, then I may try to follow league play, but it won't be the same if I can't see the games, etc. Is there a website for Romanian club soccer that I can use to follow it? Thanks!

I know romanian football is not quite popular, but I'll try to draw some attention towards it. I couldn't find a good english speaking site, but if you are interested in results and images I recommend this: www.gsp.ro

Romania - Czech Rep.: 2 - 0

It was a great match for the romanian team. Adrian Mutu showed his class and scored twice. This win gives us some chances (not too big though) to go for the german world cup; also I think it's a start to build a new national team ... after all, these young guys beat the team ranked 4th in the FIFA ranking.

See here the statistics of the match:

Good job on the Romanians. Sometimes if an upper ranked team is playing a lesser one they tend to get cocky, but I always like to support the underdogs.
