If you could select any kind of painting, frame and medium to hang in your living room what kind of finished painting would it turn out to be? Please be specific as to the dimensions, the frame you would use and the scene / image on the painting.
Mine would be a large 9x5 oil painting of sunset in the forest off the river bank. It would have to be done by Thomas Kincaid, the painter of light, and would be framed in a solid red wood frame that was carved out of a solid piece of wood. Decidedly, I don't think I will ever have that kind of money, but I can dream.
I would definitely have a Claude Monet art work hanging from my wall, probably in a grained wood frame, and around a 10x8
At the moment, I have got a couple of reproduction prints of his, I really love his style, as it's soothing and from a byegone era.
So I would invest in the 'genuine' article if I could afford it!
I'm actually running out of wall space, because I keep hanging my awful paintings. The one I currently have in the prime spot (Living room, above the TV) is a 48"X36" Mark Rothko knockoff I did two weeks ago. And it's hanging crooked, because I'm lazy and I just don't care. When I get bored with it, I'll replace it with something else. Maybe waterlilies.
