Surprise, surprise! I guess the US has to be doing this for a specific reason because I cannot see a couple of years of 'good behavior' as being a reason to sit on the UN Security Council.

The Libyan conflict is a lot worst than Egypt. Many of the rioters were brandishing guns and rocket propelled launchers but the Libyan Military did not stand for it and fired into the crowds. Gaddafi will have to watch how he controls his country from here on.
