Famed Imperial Beach sandcastle contest to end

The U.S. Open Sandcastle Competition is calling it quits because of fund-raising challenges, an event committee announced Wednesday. But a longtime competitor in the event said he hopes money can be found to keep the popular summer contest going. Ref. Source 1
