Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon said today he had signed an order declaring a state of emergency and implementing a curfew from midnight to 5 a.m. In Ferguson, the site of protests after the police shooting of an unarmed black teen and, more recently, looting of stores.
Nixon said that a "Very few" In Ferguson decided Friday night to act in a way that had the "Intent of committing crimes and endangering citizens. That is unacceptable."
He also praised "The courage and resolve of peaceful protesters who stood up against violent instigators" Overnight. Ref. CNN
Ok so a kid might have been killed by an over zealous cop, is this the way civilians demand justice by creating injustice? Its just an excuse to be lawless.

Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon deploys National Guard to Ferguson
Nixon's office early Monday said he signed an "Executive order directing additional resources through the Missouri National Guard to help restore peace and order and to protect the citizens of Ferguson." Protests in the shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown continued as police for the second night imposed a curfew on the St. Louis suburb. Ref. USAToday
President Barack Obama said Attorney General Eric Holder will travel to Ferguson, Missouri, this week amid a federal civil rights investigation into the shooting death of Michael Brown.
The President said that violence in protests undermines justice and that he is being careful about not prejudging events before investigations are completed. Obama also said that "In too many communities, too many young men of color are left behind and seen only as objects of fear."
Evidence in the shooting death could be presented to a grand jury as early as Wednesday, a spokesman for the St. Louis County prosecuting attorney said. Ref. CNN
St Louis protesters clash with police ahead of 'Weekend of Resistance':
Following the death of Vonderrick Myers Jr., in which a police officer allegedly shot the 18-year old black teenager 17 times, a wave of clashes has erupted between law enforcement and protesters in the city for two consecutive nights, with hundreds of protesters taking to the streets. Chaos and violence, including looting and fires, have erupted in Ferguson, Missouri, after a grand jury doesn't indict Officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of Michael Brown.
The St. Louis County prosecutor has released grand jury documents, including a transcript of Wilson's testimony and evidence photos of Wilson after the altercation with Brown. Ref. CNN
