FBI surrounds remaining land-rights protesters in Oregon

The FBI has "Moved to contain" the remaining protesters occupying the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Oregon and have placed agents at barricades near the refuge, the FBI's Portland division said in a statement. No shots have been fired and negotiations are continuing, the statement said. Ref. USAToday.

Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy arrested

Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy has been arrested. The father of Ammon and Ryan Bundy was detained at the Portland airport by the FBI on Wednesday night and booked in Multnomah County Jail, KGW.com and KOIN 6 News reported. His sons and several others were arrested last month after occupying an Oregon wildlife refuge during a land-rights protest. The four remaining occupiers said they would turn themselves in Thursday morning. Ref. USAToday.

Ammon Bundy and six others found not guilty in charges tied to standoff at federal wildlife refuge in Oregon

A jury found brothers Ammon and Ryan Bundy not guilty Thursday of possessing a firearm in a federal facility and conspiring to impede federal workers in charges tied to the 41-day standoff at a national wildlife refuge in rural Oregon.
