Some Turkish military units have attempted an uprising that will be not allowed to succeed, the country's prime minister said late Friday in a phone interview with Turkish broadcaster Ahaber.

A report from the U.S. Embassy in Ankara said military-appearing jets had been flying low over the city and over Istanbul for about an hour. Ref. CNN.

If there is a successful Coup this could spell disaster if the country falls into the wrong hands. Turkey is a gateway to Europe from Asia and the middle east. What kind of people will begin to head to Europe with a gate being left open.

It wasn't successful. Already Erdogan is promising that those who attempted the coup will have a very difficult road ahead. Now if the rumors are true then that could mean brutal torture and I'm sorry for their families. Question remains… who from the outside supported it?
