Oh boy, details

He's not a Trini, first of all... he's Irish. A mutual friend's mother introduced us, I guess she noticed we have a lot in common?

He lives and works in Ireland though, and won't be able to get away on vacation again until next year (the sooner the better)... while I'm studying, I won't be able to travel for a little while either, so it's a great lesson in patience!

We talk now mostly online, using skype is far more economical for a long-distance relationship, than calling on the phone! Plus, with webcams, it's almost like talking face to face.

Sorry for imposing on personal details, but you know... we have to be in on the juicy stuff. So have you actually met him in person? Do not be shy if you have not, I met my wife online. Also, you may wish to invite him here, so we can 'feel' him out and give our stamp of approval .

Page 4 Introduction Trinichic

Well... actually, not as yet! Hopefully, he'll be able to make it to Grenada in February, when my family is going over, as my sister will be singing there in concert... it'll be a mini-reunion and a great time to introduce him to everyone!

As for updates on our plans... since both of us come from large families and would hate for either side to feel left out... we're seriously considering a sort of elopement (hehe).

We could get married on our own terms, but have a small blessing ceremony and party for each family, separately. Eventually, there'll be lots of time for the families to get to know each other as I'm sure wherever we decide to live, the other's family will be more than welcome to visit, especially our parents.

Of course, this is all very preliminary... to me, the perfect scenario would be a surprise to both families, but I'd love both my parents and his at least to be there. We'd have to surprise the parents though, because I know my mom can't keep a secret!

To make up for that shock, I've asked him to formally propose the old-fashioned way, when we meet in person... you know, ask my dad's permission, and all that. It's the way my parents did it, back in their day, and I know they were a little upset with my sister for ignoring that piece of tradition.

Well Trinichic, I must say you surprised me, but it is good to know you are daring. The Irish are a very cherry people and I for one love their Gaelic culture of which I am most interested in their music. Well, I am excited for you and hope we get some pictures soon.

Trinichic Introduction

Well... time for another update!

He can't get time off work in February, so he'll visit Trinidad in April, then I'll visit him, hopefully in August to meet his family. After that, we'll plan a wedding... we wanted to meet each other's families first.

On a side-note: I really hope JB, that I didn't come off like a scaredy-cat? Most women I think, are brave when they meet the right person
