McNair banned from working out at Titans headquarters

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Titans told quarterback Steve McNair they don't want him working out in their building, a move that signals his 11-year tenure with the team may be nearing an end. |
They just banned him from working out in their facility? Thats nearly as bad as Kansas City Chiefs former head coach Gunther Cunningham finding out he was fired over the internet. You think for all he has given them, playing with a broken back and all, that they could do this the right way.
This McNair situation is getting uglier by the moment
Players union files grievance for locked-out McNair

The NFL Players Association filed a grievance against the Titans on behalf of Steve McNair, accusing the team of breaching the quarterback's contract when it barred him from working out at its facility. "He has a contract and he wants to comply with that contract, especially that part that says he must remain in excellent physical condition and give the best of his ability to the club," Berthelsen said. "And they're trying to keep him from fulfilling that function for the sole reason they want him to renegotiate his contract so they have a better deal with him." |
To solidify the Titans position that McNair was out the door, they selected Texas QB Vince Young today in the NFL draft. This is the pick that has made the most sense to me all day, and the only concern about Young is his side-throw QB motion that could get him in a lot of trouble in the NFL. He is a running QB similar to McNair, so he will fit in well with Tennessee's scheme.
