Connecticut Wildlife
A general Thread about Wildlife in Connecticut. What are the most common animals natural to Connecticut? Which Connecticut Wildlife is considered protected by local laws?
Currently there are about 40-50 species of mammals living in the state along with 50~ amphibians and reptiles plus 400 species of birds. You would usually find a lot of these animals up in the higher ranges and forested areas, of course. However it's advised to look out for black bears and wolves that roam often about the nature areas.
