In Orlando, the nation's tenth largest school district, thousands of students who leave alternative charters run by a for-profit company aren't counted as dropouts. A USA TODAY review of responses indicates some districts are already starting to phase out such materials, which teach skills such as self-awareness, empathy and resilience. Source 3o.
