I was born in Taipei, Taiwan but live in Austin, TX USA right now.

Thanks and I just want to say that this is probably the best discussion site I've ever been on. I'm one of those people that like to have "discussions" (read: arguments), even if it's to be the devil's advocate about something I don't even believe in. Let's just say I enjoy the challenge of arguing the other side of things.

However, I'm not very familiar with the format of this forum so it may take me awhile to figure things out.

Slin, just make sure you read our policy on Constructive Posting. We have many rules and we enforce them. We welcome intellectual and uplifting discussions without getting all hyper, emotional or personal towards another member. Nevertheless, you're free to disagree in the strongest term without doing all the things I stated before. Thanks.

The format is pretty simple. Topics are separated into boards that are tightly organized. No topic is considered "dead", even if nothing has been posted on it for 3 years. So, we ask that you learn how to use the search page, and use it carefully before starting any new topics. Also, make sure that the topic you are starting is in the right board.

Welcome to our community! I enjoy history too, do you have a preference of time period? Also, I think we share the "devil's advocate" way of thinking. I sometimes will make myself look at the other side to prove something to myself. I like to make sure I'm being objective! Like the others said, there is plenty to "talk" about, nice to have you here!
