Atlanta Braves

This is my favorite team in baseball, so I can say a lot about them, but I'll try to keep it short The Braves have won the NL East division the last 14 seasons; a MLB record. However, the biggest asterisk on this accomplishment is that they only have 1 World Series title to show for it (1995). My take is that winning the division year in and year out is an accomplishment in itself, and the fact that they run into teams that do better in a 5 or 7 games series is just the name of the game.
The Braves have gone through a lot of changes from 2005. Pitching coach Leo Mazzone is gone. SS Rafael Furcal is gone. Catcher Johnny Estrada is gone. 1B Julio Franco is gone. However, the Braves are no strangers to change, and have seen many big names come and go in the past years (Gary Sheffield, Javy Lopez, Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine). Yet no one has dethroned them in the NL East since 1991. With new young talent in Ryan Langerhans, Jeff Francouer, Brian McCann and Kyle Davies, and the hot bat of Andruw Jones (2005 HR Champion), can the Braves weather the likes of the NY Mets and Philadelphia Phillies, and win the NL East again and possibly a World Series? I certainly hope so.

Malexander! I knew there were more things I liked about you! The Braves are my favourite team, too. To be truthful, I don't watch much else for sports. If I can go live, I love to see just about anything -- but, I can't watch it on TV without getting sleepy. I think it's all the studying I do! NL East and World Series for us this year..

I grew up watching the Braves play, because being from North Carolina, the closes ballpark is Atlanta, GA. 1995 was a big year for us, and I am looking forward to this season. The Braves are destined for something big this year. World Series, here we come!

I can't figure out the Braves this year! Either they win in a blowout, or lose in a blowout. Sunday they lose 13-3 to the Mets. Tuesday they beat Florida 10-2. The next day they lose to the same Florida team 11-3. Now tonight they beat Florida again 9-1. Go figure!
