Charcoal Art

Have you ever use charcoal to create a picture? What are your opinions on this type of artwork?



I have always been fond of using charcoal for much of my freehand artwork. I feel it gives the real definition of shading as it is truly black in color. Charcoal pencils are ok but I still prefer to use a block of charcoal myself. Giving the ability to smear your work and give it a feeling of movement has always been amazing to me.

If you have never seen charcoal art I suggest doing a Google image search for charcoal and see what you come up with.
