What If Christ Did Not Drink...

What If Christ Did Not Drink the 'Bitter Cup' or in other words chose not to suffer for our sins? What if He did call upon the legions of angels to help him as he told Pilate?

1. Would legions of angels really have come or would that have been contrary to the plan of the Father?

2. What would would happen to us?

3. Would Christ continue to live on the earth forever and ever as a persecuted or praised soul?

4. Would another saviour be sent?

Drink Not Christ What

Since this is a 'What if' discussion, one cannot really use Scriptures to answer this question. The answers I am providing are based on a pure guess.

1. Would legions of angels really have come or would that have been contrary to the plan of the Father?

I don't believe so. Even though Jesus was the Son of God, calling a legion of angels would not have been what the Lord had planned.

2. What would would happen to us?

My guess is that the Lord would abandon the Earth and we would not be saved. I can't even imagine what the world would turn into.

3. Would Christ continue to live on the earth forever and ever as a persecuted or praised soul?

Yes, as punishment for not carrying out the Lord's will, Jesus would probably be forced to walk the face of the Earth for eternity, similar to what happened to Lucifer.

4. Would another saviour be sent?

Who else could the Lord send? Gabriel, or one of the other angels. If Jesus, his one and only Son could not fulfill his will, then I don't see how anyone else could.

What If Christ Did Not Drink... Revealed Bible The

1. Would legions of angels really have come or would that have been contrary to the plan of the Father?

I believe that, had Jesus called for them, angels would have come. People ofen overlook the fact that Jesus is God. Also, remember at the garden of Gethsemene how Jesus was offered to chance to get out of dying? God the Father didn't want to watch his only son die, but he knew that there was no other way to save the rest of us.

2. What would would happen to us?

We would still be sinners with no way to get to Heaven. If there was another way to be saved without Jesus dying, don't you think God would have chosen that way first?

3. Would Christ continue to live on the earth forever and ever as a persecuted or praised soul?

I believe that Jesus, being God, would go back to Heaven. Lucifer, because he was a created being, was banished for trying to overthrow God.

4. Would another saviour be sent?

No. It God himself could not do it, who could?

All of this is pure opinion, and I apologize if I offended anyone. oops.gif

Drink Not Christ What

I have had many many theological discussions, many of them what ifs, and I don't believe this one has ever come up.

1. Would legions of angels really have come or would that have been contrary to the plan of the Father?
If Jesus was God, and Jesus indeed had free will, then he would have been able to truly call them down if he desired. The angels would have obeyed God's call and saved him.

2. What would would happen to us?
I don't know, but would God really let everyone go to hell based on the fact that his own son, being himself God, would die for us?

3. Would Christ continue to live on the earth forever and ever as a persecuted or praised soul?
No, if Jesus was indeed God, then who would make him live on earth? Does God command himself to live on the earth because God wouldn't fulfill God's will? No, Jesus would just go back to heaven with God the Father because he had chosen to take human form and could chose to go back. The power of God would have no limits even if it was Jesus as God.

4. Would another saviour be sent?

Really, who would you send? If you essentially sent yourself to die and couldn't do it, who else could you expect to freely go? The logical answer is no one. The old saying goes if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself. But if you can't do it, you really can't rely on someone else.

Offtopic but,

All in all this is a weird discussion that brings up odd theological discussions like, 'can Jesus, who was supposedly God, disobey the Father, who is supposedly also God' in essence, can God disobey himself if God is one?

Let's have a little fun here, OK.

1. Would legions of angels really have come or would that have been contrary to the plan of the Father?

Since Jesus is Jehovah of the Old Testament, I believe that a legion of angels would have in fact came down.

2. What would would happen to us?

The plan that presented before we came to this earth would be frustrated, and Satan (Lucifer) would have control over us for the rest of our lives.

3. Would Christ continue to live on the earth forever and ever as a persecuted or praised soul?

He would live like the rest of us once he reached a certain age, he would die. What would happen then. Only Elohim knows.

4. Would another saviour be sent?

No one else received the calling of Savior or Messiah, Only Jehovah.
