With an expected release into New York State this fall Honda unveils the 2006 Natural Gas Civic GE. This may not be a total solution as of yet to stop dependency on costs of fuels as natural gas is a mere 25% cheaper purchases commercially than gasoline yet the real advantage here is for lower emissions.
A definite must read article.
This is definitely a step in the right direction, but really is not a viable solution, yet. The fact that you either have to refuel at home or at sparsely located natural fuel stations is an inconvenience. I would really like to see more markets like New York run with this technology, so that more of the country is exposed at one time, rather than one isolated market. If someone is going to be purchasing this vehicle, they had better either get to know the fuel gauge very well to estimate if they can reach home in time, or get to know where all the natural fuel stations are so they don't get stranded.
Lower emissions, twenty-five percent cheaper, sign me up! I wonder how long it will take to get cars like this reasonably priced for the average person?
