REP. KENNEDY CRASHES CAR NEAR CAPITOL

Rep. Patrick Kennedy, son of Sen. Ted Kennedy, said Thursday he was apparently disoriented by medication when he crashed his car into a barricade on Capitol Hill overnight.

And here is what you have to ask your self: Why was not sobriety test given, no ticket written, and no arrest made?

I took some prescription muscle relaxers for a headache once and forgot I had promise to take a friend to work. Needless to say all of the above happened when I was swerving and I didn't crash. I was arrest for driving under the influence. My sentence was lenient because I passed the urine test for extra-circular drugs and alcohal. That is to say I had nothing more than what was prescribed to me in me. But the judge said that I should not have been driving and I was a danger that day to other drivers. He was right, and I was punished. It must be nice to be rich, white, and important in washington, you can get away with anything.

I heard on the radio that his story changed from last night to today. Apparently, last night he had a complete story, telling all the things that happened. Now, today, he can't remember anything at all about the incident.

If he is addicted to something, whether it is alcohol, prescription drugs, or illegal drugs, he needs to get help. He needs to get clean. And I don't believe that he should be serving in Congress while he is in this state.

I am incensed that the Capitol Police just escorted him home. I don't care what a person's politics are, or what position they hold, if they do things like this, they should be charged and held, just like any other citizen.

Patrick Kennedy went nuts on the floor this week, yelling at the media for not reporting on the war. In a Howard Dean-esque moment, he charged the press has been negligent reporting on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. He wants an immediate end to the wars, but his point is correct...where IS this media? The same media that couldn't stop reporting on the war while Bush was in office? Ref. Source 1
