Offtopic but, Roz, check this thread out. I am sure you have something to say about it: https://www.bordeglobal.com/foruminv/index....showtopic=19569 |
I am feeling great, thanks for asking. And my husband is amazing. Now for the info!
Jay was born December 14th at 7:54 AM. He weighed 8lbs 12oz and was 20.5 inches long. He was born with chubby cheeks and peach fuzz hair! I went into labor around 3pm on the 13th, but it was pretty mild until the doctor broke my water later that night. Then when they started the pitocin I really started to feel it! Not long after I got the epidural , and man was it great!
One thing I was really scared of with the epidural was the fact that I would be in so much pain when they poked me and it would be hard to hold still. When it came down to it, I was even more scared because I was shaking like crazy. Then the anesthesiologist pulled out a smaller needle and said that he was going to give me a different painkiller through my IV to ease the pain of the contractions while he fixed the epidural, and also to ease the pain of the epidural shot. I really liked that because it also really relaxed me so that I stopped shaking and was able to hold really still. Plus the pain was gone immediately so that I didn't have to wait for the epidural to start working.
Anyways, my mom arrived around 5:30 AM, right when I started pushing. I pushed for over 2 hours and the baby was posterior. Not long after he was born, they informed me that he had low blood sugar because I was borderline diabetic. He had to be on an IV for 2 days, but fortunately we were only in the hospital for one day extra. He also had jaundice, but after a week and a half on a biliblanket, it's pretty much gone.
We just went to our second doctor appointment and he is healthy as can be!
Congratulations, It's A Boy! That is so wonderful ~ thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. I can hardly wait to see pictures (hint hint! ) of him. Does Jay look like his mom or his dad?
And how are YOU feeling?
Congratulations, Dimavo! Except for a few hitches, it sounds as though everything went very well, and Jay sounds like a cutie. Are you glad you decided on the epidural? No need to answer, I know you are. Are you getting much rest? It would be great fun to see a picture of him!
Awwwww! I am so happy for you! As Valla, I will not ask about the epidural, I also know the answer See what I was talking about? You was really lucky to get another pain killer while waiting for your epidural! *smile*
I am glad everything turn out just great! Enjoy your little one, they grow so fast!

Congratulations Dimavo!
What wonderful news, and early 'Christmas present', glad to hear that he's healthy, and things are going well. I really like the name too, did you give Jay a middle name? He sounds so cute!
Very best wishes, Diane.
