3D like real or not?
What do you think about the animation effects in most games and movies? Are they believable?
QUOTE (From USA Today) |
With 'Rings,' 'Bond,' Electronic Arts goes Hollywood No. 1 video game publisher Electronic Arts has big plans for Hollywood. The company, which plans to make Los Angeles a major hub of game development, said Thursday it would hire at least 300 new staff over the next two years as it gears up for new games, including those based on high-profile movie franchise. |
Well, there are some movies that have great 3D special effects that appear to be real, and others that look like garbage. In video games, (the ones I have) some of the 3D effects are pretty cool. They people actually look like people, but I have seen some that could have been better.
Considering the age of this thread I believe that technology has advanced dramatically in the 3D technology thanks to computer animation improvements. Graphics today have reached my expectations for any 2 dimensional image to create. The only improvement over what I currently see on the market would be a true holographic image actually displayed in true depth.
What is your opinion of the graphics today in video games and videos in general?
Also, since this thread was started back in 2003, what is your conclusion concerning the improvements made in the past three years?
When I fail to appreciate the rendered textures of today I only have to look at what was available a few years ago and then I have to say, "wow" and note that we have come a very long way. Images used in the filming of Narnia is magnificent. The movements used for Matrix games also shows the new revolution.
