Is the fighter pilot the most powerful battle soldier on the battlefield?

No the most powerful soldier on the battle is the one who has free will and knows what is to be done. A couple of well equipped soldiers with training behind them can take out a lot of people. When I was in I was the team leader of a three man team. We had the mobility and firepower to take on a lot of people. There was not much we could not handle.

I would say he can cause the most damage to the enemy. One fighter pilot can kill many foot soldiers. Conversely I suppose, a foot soldier with a SAM can take down a fighter pilot.

Initially, I was going to say the soldier that has control over a nuke is the most powerful, but one soldier cannot do that, it usually takes a team to set off a nuke. Therefore I will go with the pilot since he usually has a load of firepower at his disposal and can drop a nuke too, although in this day and age that is done by missile.

While the fighter pilot has a lot of rounds and bombs at his disposal he is not the most powerful. A well placed shot by a common soldier on the ground can take the fighter pilot out. He does not need a SAM missle to aid in this. A pilot can kill a lot on one mission but so can your tank, or a battleship sitting off the coast. A machine gunner in a platoon of infantry can kill just as many. Having a nuke does not even take a soldier. Just a press of a button can cause this. That is why I picked the free willed soldier.

Keep in mind we are talking about one soldier. Battleships and tanks need many soldiers / sailors to properly control.

Maybe in WWII, but with modern aircraft flying out of sight and out of sound that is an impossibility. Ican see that working with an Apache helicopter.

What about the sniper he is one of the most feared specially if you're a high ranking officer.

He is the most feared and not that powerful. HE is good at causing a lot of confusion due to a well placed shot.

If your talking strictly the battlefield then you have to rule out the fighter pilot who never sees the battlefield. IF your talking about a fighter pilot as in the A-10 tank destroyer then yes he is powerful but is also vulnerable to ground fire.
