Scientists have reprogrammed human invariant natural killer T cells to induced pluripotent stem cells, which were then differentiated back to iNKT cells that showed stronger activity than the original iNKT cells. This study shows iPS cell technology can be used to recover immune cells that have weakened immune activity.

I saw a news clip for this. Its a inventive three step process. First they take a blood sample form the patient Second they take the immune cells of the patient and change it to fight a specific cancer and then third they culture it and inject it back into the patient. The cells can stay in the body for years from what I understand so there isn't a recurrence of whatever is being fought by the new cells.
