This is nonsense! Now to Franken foods to fake food and ingredients? This can cause people to get sick or worse because of that. But what people can do about that?

They can eat healthy food people call "Organic" or simply grow your own if you can, that way you know exactly where it came from and how you got it. Anything in some kind of packaging usually isn't good for you, usually that's the way to judge food's worth in general.

You are talking about food that is sold in the Us that I would define a Country which presents a medium level of hazard for food (not healthy but not poisonous either). You guys should see what they sell in South-Eastern Asia. It gives the creeps. No rules here: they write what's inside the package only for imported products and pictures and descriptions of the foods don't have to correspond necessarily to the actual content of the package you buy.
They use any sort of chemicals preservatives or flavors (many of which are banned in western countries) which causes these countries to have one of the highest rates of tumors not caused by the use of tobacco (well, they are leaders in this latter category also but that's another story).
