It amazes me that the camcorders with low light and night time setting are still only doing 1.1 to 3 mp pictures. My dad has a cannon camera 200 it does that also KNtoran it is a neat options. Just be nice to have a better resolution on the camcorder still. They are getting there.
Only issue I read is that editing the DVD or Hard drive files is painful and some of the formates are not supported by the major film editing softwares. So be careful on that.
With my sons starting more sports and that it would be nice to tape them. So maybe a good tape is the better method and just put in the time on the transfer. All the warning I get are stay away from high def it si a waste in the recorders. Fine by me as my tv would not handle it.
So 200 for a good non electronic camcorder and 200 a good camera might be my better bet.
This what I was thinking. A good $200 for a nice digital camcorder. I usually do my sports videos in 1-2 minutes at a time thus editing is a lot easier. Most I have done at one shot was 4 minutes during a band performance. But again that was something I was not going to edit.
