Which woman, in your opinion, is the best Example of Mothering in the Bible?

Mother Example

The best example of Motherhood to me comes from the story of Mary and God's selection of her as Mother of Jesus. She is not given as much credit as I think she ought to outside of the Catholic Church. Of course Eve, the Mother of all, is also top on the list, but we know so little about her.

Yes, funny you should mention the Catholic church, because they give her the utmost respect and honor, which, in my opinion, she fully deserves. Today at mass, the homily was devoted to the portrayal of the ultimate Mother, in Mary, mother of Jesus. She is the example for all mothers to follow.

Mother Example

When Noemi lost her husband and both sons, she decided to leave Moab and return to her home in Bethlehem. She told her daughters-in-law to stay in their own land, but Ruth insisted on going with her.

Ruth worked hard gleaning in the fields and her loyalty was noticed. Noemi told her where to go and what to do and she became the wife of a rich land owner. Because Noemi returned Ruth's loyalty, the rich land owner bought her late husbands land and gave her a grandson to hold on her lap.
