[tv Movie] 10.5

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0364146/

I watched this movie last night. I really liked it. The story line had a few technical problems, and the camera work was very jerky (apparently on purpose). However, I liked the premise of the story.

It is about a series of earthquakes moving down the west coast of the US. However, the epicenters are not very clear. One scientist thinks that she has discovered what is causing them. Eventually, she comes up with a way to minimize them, and there is a rush to stop the biggest one from causing the coastal area of California from separating from the rest of North America.

A pretty decent disaster movie. I laughed - a lot - at the special effects, but there were also some pretty good CGI scenes. The Golden Gate twisting like a ribbon was pretty good. The earthquake causing a chasm to rush after an Amtrak train, swallowing JUST the railroad track, was pretty stupid.

Anyway, I am looking forward to the 2nd 10.5 movie. It shows tonight.

Movie tv

I got this one from Netflix some time back. I really don't like disaster movies on TV because they are always pretty hokey. Nighthawk already covered the main parts so I won't dwell on them but to say this: Earthquakes don't go after people. They are NATURAL disasters, not monsters that can go after people. This movie like so many others makes the earthquake out to be something orchestrated by Doctor Doom to kill many people Didn't like it, but my wife did, so did my parents.
