I somehow got over this by spending more time with my friends and family than I have on social media. It's this "Need" that keeps us hooked in to being as active as possible when in reality it doesn't really matter. So spend less using social media and spend more in reality like learning how to cook or learning how to play music, things to get your mind off that need.
At the origin of many of these addictions we can find a tendency to search the Internet for "Refuge" or a solution to psychological discomfort generated for different reasons: difficulty in coping with painful situations, overcoming social anxiety or social phobia, situations of personal stress or stress.
