Hinn Benny

I think he is just a showman and is all about the money:

QUOTE
The Hinn ministry also spends a great deal on pastor Benny's lifestyle when he's on the road. These records show hotel suites for well over a thousand dollars a night and transatlantic flights on the Concorde - at more than $8,000 round trip. That is, before pastor Benny began flying in a multi-million-dollar private jet.

But Benny Hinn's followers may not know about how all of their donations are spent. For example there's Hinn's palatial new home, now being built for $3.5 million in an exclusive gated community overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

The plans call for more than 6,000 square feet - 7 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms and a basement garage with enough space for ten cars. Who's paying for that? Not pastor Benny. That mansion on the Pacific is considered the Hinn ministry's church residence or "parsonage," and the ministry is picking up all the expenses for land, construction, even property taxes.

His organization also has a special tax that gives him the right to not tell how much he makes in salary or how the money is spent.

Another of Hinn's more controversial moments came when his wife was detained in Cape Town, South Africa in 1998 for allegedly shoplifting two pairs of pajamas. The case was dropped due to an excessive backlog of cases in the Cape Town Magistrate Court. One of the more interesting tidbits to emerge from the incident was that Hinn apparently uses the name "Penny Hinn" when travelling, as that was the name she gave when the police first questioned her.

And I cannot end with some false prophecies:

QUOTE
""The Lord also tells me to tell you in the mid 90's, about "94-"95, no later than that, God will destroy the homosexual community of America. [audience applauds] But He will not destroy it - with what many minds have thought Him to be, He will destroy it with fire. And many will turn and be saved, and many will rebel and be destroyed."
Orlando Christian Center, Dec. 31, 1989 (audio)

"The Spirit of God tells me an earthquake will hit the East Coast of America and destroy much in the '90s. Not one place will be safe from earthquakes in the '90s. These who have not known earthquakes will know it. People, I feel the Spirit all over me!"
Orlando Christian Center, Dec. 31, 1989

"We may have two years before the rapture. Can I be blunt with you? I don't know if we have two years left. I'm going to prove to you from the Word tonight, that we have less than two years, unless the Lord changes his mind."
November 9, 1990 Praise-a-Thon

He also prophecied that Fidel Castro would die in the 1990's.

Benny Hinn Beliefs Religious General

Benny Hinn is nothing but a crook and an actor. He blows on people and they fall over, supposedly healed or filled with the spirit. He puts on a wonderful show of pomp and circumstance, but gives people false hope while they give money they don't have. Anyone who asks for money to prove your faith automatically goes down in my book as a crook and a liar.

Exactly and the fact that he takes money from a lot of poor people who are in fact looking for a true miracle, makes his behavior even more sickening. But like I always say, when someone has money even millions is never enough...they want more.

In recent shows I have noticed him wearing a traditional kung-fu style outfit as opposed to his trade mark light colored suit and tie - what is up with that? We must ask what has given him a rise to power, there must be something that people are holding on to that they cannot find anywhere else, including other Churches with similar pomp and acting.

Benny Hinn was sued and lost three wrongful death law suits. (out of court settlements/ undisclosed payments). All three times, Hinn told people at his crusades they were healed of cancer or AIDS. These victims, believed the lies of Benny Hinn, stopped taking their medicine and died. And there are many cases like that including some here in Trinidad.

On a Dateline Interview, Benny Hinn was questioned about another donation campaign. Benny Hinn raised $25 million dollars to build an orphanage in S. California but he never built the orphanage and ended all plans to build it. When questioned on Dateline, Benny Hinn smiled and said, "The Lord told me not to build the orphanage. God will reveal new plans." rolleyes.gif

QUOTE
Hinn as CEO of his ministry has a salary being upwards of $1.3 million each year according to wall watchers. He owns two Mercedes valued at $80,000 each. The bills for purchasing and tailoring Benny's suits are between many thousands of dollars per month. He owns a private jet (Gulfstream III) that cost over twelve million dollars, with over a million dollars for maintenance per year. His layovers between Crusades at locations such as Hawaii are upwards to $3,000 for one night.

Yet Hinn can say to his TV audience worldwide "Not everybody is listening to what is being preached, in fact some of these dear people out there, honest sincere people see us Christians and see preachers as money hungry and after money, which is so sad because that's not a true picture. Just because a few may have gone off in prosperity and have preached things that are not Biblical does not mean we are all like that"¦" (This is Your Day program Jan.10, 2005).

QUOTE
In the recent article "American evangelist, Benny Hinn leaves Nigeria in annoyance" Benny Hinn arrived Nigeria on April 28, he was looking forward to a quintessential crusade that would be attended by about six million people"¦. on the third day of the crusade when he said with regret that the money he pumped into the project could have been put to better use.

"Four million dollars down the drain!" he reportedly shouted during the crusade, with his voice cracking with emotion.

Hinn obviously did not know that Nigerian laws do not allow people to take donations out of the country they must be kept and used inside the country.

Such a caring man....

Oh, he is just having a "normal" lifestyle...how you dare to say otherwise!

QUOTE
Benny's office at his church contains pictures of himself with George Bush and John Paul II. It was Hinn who arranged for Paul and Jan Crouch to meet with the Pope. Here is Mike Thomas's impression of a visit with Hinn:

He looks like a Ralph Lauren advertisement, a true gentleman of leisure. As always, his hair is sprayed solidly in place. "I don't know if you'll ever [again] see a reverend without socks," he says proudly. [He's wearing no socks.] "That's the way I am. I'm more down to earth than most people."

This comes from a man who just turned in his Mercedes for a Jaguar and recently moved from the exclusive Heathrow development to the even more exclusive Alaqua, where he now lives in a $685,000 home. His suits are tailored, his shoes are Italian leather, and his wrists and finger glitter with gold and diamonds ... what he considers a modest lifestyle, as if everyone lives like this.

He wears his diamond Rolex, diamond rings, gold bracelet and custom suits for all to see. ..."What's the big deal, for goodness sake?" he says. [b]"What am I supposed to do, drive a Honda? ...That's not in the Bible. ... I'm sick and tired about hearing about streets of gold [in heaven]. I don't need gold in heaven. I got to have it now."

His god must be a god of confusion. I can't believe people still carry on in these lies? I guess anyone will pay just to have someone tell them something good in their ear.

Benny Hinn General Religious Beliefs

JB, most people that go after him are people who are desperate for a miracle, who have been suffering of all kind of diseases, people who really believe they can be cured. Then a mass hysteria is created and people think is the power of the Holy Spirit. It is really pathetic.
