I have recently watched the movie "Left Behind" and "Left Behind 2" and have come to the conclusion that I must now read the book series.
How closely is the movie tied to the books is my question for anyone that may have both read this book as well as seen this movie?
Basically these movies for anyone unfamiliar are based entirely on the revelations from the Bible. These both demonstrate at great lengths exactly how harsh of a reality to be expected for the end times. There are numerous scriptural references and interpretations about prophecy. I believe that the actors did a remarkable job playing their roles as they fit so nicely together.

I have written a bit about the books on the forum. I have read all 12 of the original series, but am not interested in the add-ons.
I did see the first movie, but it was quite a while ago.
It is interesting, but for some reason, while I was looking up information about Benny Hinn, I found some links to articles about the Left Behind series. One article I read was on Crosswalk.com, and was extremely critical of the movies, since they only mention Christ a couple of times, yet are designed to be all about Christianity.
I would be happy to discuss the books in the appropriate places here on the forum.
From a purely entertainment factor, this movie does a good job of keeping you captivated. Kirk Cameron does a good job and is convincing in the role. Warning, DO NOT COMPARE THIS TO THE BOOKS!
If you do, you will be disappointed as much is left out and "redone" for cinematic value. But the same basic principle applies. Left Behind 2 was not as good as the original, but it sufficed as the second/third book movie.
