Indian Arrival Day
Indian Arrival Day was declared a holiday in Trinidad & Tobago as a remembrance of those who traveled across the ocean as indentured laborers from India. There is celebration in the form of small parades, dance, music, etc. About 50% of the population's ancestors are from India, so the tie is strong.

Indian Arrival Day - 30 May, 2016
Indian Arrival, like Corpus Christi and Baptist Liberation are not occasions that I celebrate. I'm not 'into' any holiday that my children are not interested in or for which there is not any immediate significance to their lives. Most times holidays just get in the way of productivity and this country has way too many of them.
