DYING CLIMBER CAUGHT ON FILM
A new picture of what happened on Mt Everest the day double amputee Mark Inglis reached the summit suggests he was wrongly condemned for not helping dying British climber David Sharp.

While it appears that this was not exclusively Inglis's fault, its still a rather horrible ordeal. A man lay dying in a cave of hypothermia but almost nobody cared to help him. I don't understand how he just layed by himself all day with no one helping him. They were so intent on reaching the summit that no one wanted to stop and help him and save him from freezing to death. Its really a horrible case of wretched priorities in my opinion, they wanted to reach the summit more than save a life.
I wonder why the criticism fell on a man missing half his legs, Mark Inglis, when many more able-bodied people were there as well - including camera crews from the Discovery Channel!

New Zealander Mark Woodward, who was with Inglis for his climb, agreed with the climber's stand. "Our Sherpas checked (Sharp) and put him on oxygen but unfortunately all that did was prolong everything for him," he said. |
