Should we be expecting anything?

I will be working that day in the hospital. That will be an open invitation for every lunatic to go haywire. Every depressed person to end it all and for every partier to drink up. Sounds like a busy day to me! If we are prepared we have nothing to fear. undecided.gif

I suspect it will be a normal day, like any other. As is indicated in another discussion about the symbolism of 666, I don't think there is a literal connection with the date and the end of the world. However, people will use it as a scare tactic, or as in the case of the Omen movie, a marketing tactic. I expect the day to go by smoothly.

Nothing's going to happen? Nothing's going to happen?!? Are you people insane this day is bigger then halloween and Friday the thirteenth combined! Me and all my friends even some people I don't know are going to scare everyone in the town so much they are going to be awake for the rest of there lives. I'm not going to tell you what were going to do but how's this it involves chlorine, baking soda, beer, vinegar, hot sauce, like ten pounds of red food coloring, a pool and a weather balloon, and yes we have access to all these things even the weather balloon sure all this stuff together cost us 50,000 dollars but it's going to be worth it!

Well, I have to say I was actually curious about what they were going to do, if they really did anything at all. In fact, I enjoyed my 666 day, because I was on vacation. I can tell you that in the Wallace State Park, life went on without a hitch. The birds sang, and the coyote's howled and the owls hooted. The lake was enjoyable and the trails were wonderful and no one seemed to know that this day could be evil. No animals acted weird, the trees didn't fall, and nothing out of the ordinary happened.

The fact that we had to talk about this really represents just how superstitious people in this world are. People get all worried about a man whose number is 666 when in reality, many people can have their name calculated to that number. The number itself is nothing special, so nothing special happens regarding this number. Days such as these only get notice taken because superstitious people are worried when no need to worry exists.
