Military weapons sold to gangs Are US gangs joining the military in order to get more experience? Is the US military also selling weapons to these gangs both in the US and around the world?

Part Time Soldier - Part Time Gangster

It seems like gang members are getting smarter these days. Gang members in the military are on the rise. CID are discovering , they are joining the military to pick up special skills. Job skills such as a Medic , so they can treat a gunshot wound. Or a Infantryman to learn house raiding procedures, marksmanship and explosives. Once they completed their tour of duty. They re-unite with their gang and teach theirs skills to fellow gang members. I am just blown away by all this , totally shocked that they are so dedicated to their gang.

I thought the military was supposed to teach them discipline and honor? When they leave the military, they shouldn't be going back to the gangs to teach them how to kill better, that goes against the military code! I am very apalled that these gang members aren't learning more about honor and discipline, I would have thought that it would teach them more in the military, not give them the skills to be better gang members.

I don't understand this. Isn't the military supposed to make a real good check up on someone who wants to join the military or are they so desperate in getting people?

LDS_forever, I feel simply because someone is in a gang, it does not mean that they have a criminal record. It might be that these individuals have been chosen by the gang for this particular mission, however it might be a failure of the system.

konquererz, I feel an individual within a gang could be in such a position partly because they don't respect society. The military usually fights to keep society safe. If the individual didn't respect society then they wouldn't be fighting in the military to help society. Instead they would keep their head low and mind their own business, acquire the training and get out. This which is an act common to soldiers would not be seen as a warning sign.
In summurization, discipline and honor is already being portrayed by the individual, but they are honorable to their gang in that they will return. This would as well require discipline.

If this is really the case, I think they should have more strict background checks on people who are enlisting in the Army. This is detrimental for the society as a whole.

I personally feel that during enlisting, the Army should make a thorough check on the person's background to make sure that the person is not going to misuse what he learns in the Army.

Gangs kill it big time for the military man, they're just bringing down the honor. Worst is the dishonorable soldiers caught up in the mess of supplying weapons for the outside gangs too. They better weed them out before they become too big to control.
