Rugby for sissies?
Just try it! Being one of the smallest guys on the pitch, I know that the motto is - HIT HARD OR GET HURT

JB, most Australian's, Kiwis and South Africans can't believe the amount of protection American footballers wear! How can you play with all that armour on and what is the point? I don't think a lot of those guys would last in a Rugby game.
I will give you an example of how dynamic and fit, multiskilled rugby players are.
A Flank Forward has to scrummage, tackle, maul, pass, side-step, jump in the lineout, punt the ball occasionally and mabe SPRINT 50m to score a try. Contesting a rugby breakdown in the loose takes bravery and he has to keep his temper. Martin Williams of wales is one of the best in the game.
How many American Football players actually touch the ball?
If you just count touching the ball in a five minute period you can have as many as 22 different people touching the ball. Normal play has 3 touching or carrying the ball. I have seen plays were more than 6 people have had their hands on the ball.
I still find world cup futbal to be the better sport. LLss violence on my old brittle bones
Rugby is a young man's sport, but you still see a few old grinders that keep going into their 50's in the amateur game. They are usually playing in the forwards, wise and crafty while knowing every trick in the book.
Soccer is the last competitive field game I have played too.
I played Right Back for the office!
Should have been Left Back in the Office!
