I think this is a particularly interesting little piece of news.

A mason, and not a carpenter? Possibly ...

Dan Brown, author of "The Da Vinci Code," is hard at work on another thriller. This time, he says, the book will explore the inner world of the Masons and the Mormons. I'm sure it will be a blockbuster filled with symbols and assassins and sultry seductresses. I'm sure the Masons and Mormons can't wait. |
I remember hearing about this and really thought that I had put a Thread about it here, but in any case, the Church is getting more and more spotlight despite their 'low profile' stance of recent years. I am interested to see how they will handle this one.
Fascinating! I've really enjoyed Da Vinci Code, and I'm sure I'll also enjoy Masons/Mormons "secrets" revealed. And I'm sure it will be interesting to see the reaction of LDS and non-LDS in the aftermath.
However, I really doubt they'll make a movie out of it.
At first I didn't like this news, but any news is good news for our church because we have nothing to hide. Some people investigate our church because they want to find flaws in it, then they end up converting. I'm interested what he "finds out" about our church.

But the things that we hide are not things that have anything to do with church doctrine or the "meat" of our church. The things that we'd like to forget are things done by the members themselves. I should've been more clear in my post, because I don't agree with people spreading bad "news" about our church, or those who claim to be affiliated with our church but aren't actually members. If this book even gets made, I doubt it'll be in favor of our church, but it may cause people to become interested (aside from people being drawn away). It's kind of too soon to tell what will happen.
