BEST CARS FOR TEEN DRIVERS
Buying a car for a teen driver can be expensive in a number of ways. Obviously, the car itself costs real money. Then there are insurance costs and the eventual repair and maintenance costs.

The Honda Civic, in my opinion, is one of the better cars to get for a young driver. It was the first car I had, and it suited me well. Hondas in general have very few problems, and get good mileage. Their size and handling is also conducive to safe driving techniques. I wouldn't get the EX model, which has a V6 and leather, instead, go with the lower LX models. That way the parents save some money but still have the assurance that their teenager has a sound vehicle. I still have my Honda Civic and hopefully can hand it down to my daughter when she is ready to drive. It is a 1998 model and just hit 100,000 miles.
I agree Hondas are a good choice. My little sister did very well with her Honda Accord. It was bought used in her teens and lasted a very long time with minimal problems and lots of mileage. It was even wrecked pretty bad once and still kept ticking. She kept saying that when it petered out then she would get a new car, but it just kept going and going. Finally she traded it off just because she wanted something different.
