What if there was never any oil in the Middle East, do you think Islam would still have such a say in world politics? Would the Middle East even be 'entertained' by the rest of the world or largely ignored. Now you may be quick to give a response, but look at Afghanistan and how many world legions have been there fighting over it.

I never thought about that JB but that may be true because without the oil they really wouldn't have the money to fund a lot of things. I think those Saudis really overdo it to. Did you see how they live? I mean like I saw from the movie The Kingdom and they have like big castles loads of cars and such and the people just accept that.

I do not think that many legions would be spilling their blood for a bunch of sand. I know that people fight over afghanistan due to the amount of opium that they are able to produce there. The illegal drug trade is pretty high there.
