What do you all think on the proposal that would prohibit unauthorized people and groups from feeding the homeless downtown in Miami?

The headlines is a little confusing. What the article is saying is that people who haven't been trained will not be able to feed the homeless there are good reasons for it, however when someone is hungry and they're asking you for food you won't stop thinking you should have a permit.

So what will happen to the homeless? They will be ignored? Who's going to make sure they are eating properly?

There is a bigger picture here. Why should the homeless even be begging? There should be a system in place where they can do some work and then get payment in the form of food. Honestly most homeless have deep rooted problems that a psychologist may need to deal with - that's the point I try to make, stop looking at the problem (symptoms) but the cause (root). Then they wouldn't have to worry about putting up bans.

No one takes laws like this seriously until they start enforcing them. If they did arrest the do gooders then that might be cause for a state outcry.
