I imagine it would be. I think one needs to save up the money for vacation before they go. I also think that camping instead of staying in a motel, and keeping food in a cooler instead of eating out can save allot of money and thus be less stressful. Not to mention that when you finally get home from vacation, you don't owe money from it.

I remember an article(more like a free advirtisement), for a cheap busline out of Chicago which went to destinations across the Midwest for only $15. How they can afford it with today's gas prices, is a mystery to me.
