A New Wave Of Anti-Semitism
It appears that there is a new wave of anti-semitism sweeping through the world. There have been many, many acts of anti-Jewish hatred and intimidation reported in European countries such as France, Germany, and England over the last two or three years.
Now, there appears to be a movement of "official" anti-semitism starting up again in Russia.

Why is it that people always blame the Jews, claiming that they bring upon themselves the very hatred and horrors that those people are committing? At the moment, I know of at least three "blood libels" that are popularly being spread around the world, as justification for anti-semitism. So, what do you think of this? |
Here is another article on anti-Semitism in the world. I think this shows why there is such a rise in what we are seeing happen around us.

Do you see any of this happening where you live?

Here is some information about an actual case of anti-semitism being brought to court, and the perpetrators being found guilty. The surprise (well, not to a LOT of people) is that the perpetrators are three writers for the major French newspaper, Le Monde, along with publisher!

I highly recommend this article.
I think that anti-semitism will continue to escalate in line with the whole Palestine v Israel saga. There is no doubt that is a source of deep resentment in the Muslim world at least.
I really don't know why people hate jews, it makes no sense. Maybe the extreme socialists relate to Nazi philosophy? Whatever the reason it is extreme ignorance and should not be tolerated.
But I also get the impression that anti-semitism is a terribly over-used term for just about everything that is against, or disagrees with Israel. Semites are also arabs too so to me it is a ridiculous term.
The word, "anti-semitism" was coined, I believe, by the Nazis, to replace the more obvious term that also comes from German, that simply means "Jew Hatred". Unfortunately, I can never remember what that exact word is. Anti-semitism ONLY refers to Jew hatred, despite the recent attempts by Arabs to make it apply to themselves.
I don't understand why there is deep resentment in the Arab world about Israel. Israel makes up less than 10% of the overall "Middle East", which includes Israel and all the Arab world. There is already a country made up entirely of "Palestinian" Arabs. It is called Jordan. More Jews were displaced (thrown out of their homes and countries) in the 1940s and 1950s than Arabs, yet the Jews made new homes, the Arabs didn't.
Part of the hatred among the Arabs stems directly from the fact that the premier cleric in Jerusalem in the 1930s and 1940s was a close confidant, supporter, and advocate of Adolph Hitler.
If you read the thread on Israel and Palestine, you will see where I have provided extensive documentation.
Personally, I think that the Muslims hate the Jews mostly because of the fact that Judaism shows the weaknesses of Islam, and Muslims seem to be particularly unable to deal with such things without violence.
Eichel warns against anti-Semitism
Federal Finance Minister Hans Eichel has warned of growing anti-Semitism in Germany. Speaking at an event of the German-Israeli Society in Kassel, Eichel said that all parties must adopt clear positions against extreme right-wing thought. He expressly welcomed the growth of Jewish life in Germany, and called upon everyone to learn more from and about each other. The chairman of the German-Israeli Parliamentarians' Group in the Bundestag, Hildegard Mueller, said that Israel was the only democracy in the Middle East that shared German values.
