Cyprus would be severely affected if current climate change projections hold true. Cyprus would lose anywhere from 20% to 50% of its average yearly rainfall and desertification would impact its biodiversity. It would also see encroachment in its low lying areas. Due to these impacts the Cypriot government is trying to reverse current climate trends.
