"Band of Brothers" is the best WWII series you could find out there. It is a WWII miniseries, and has 10 episodes each an hour long which span the rough times of the so called "Band of brothers" who are a company called "Easy company" in the 101st Airborne. It is extremely realistic, to the point, and historically accurate, and you get to know each member of the company individually. This movie, in my opinion, is much better than "Saving Private Ryan". It won golden globe awards and is directed by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks, the same people who did "Saving Private Ryan". My favorite characters are Bill Guarnere, Joe Toye, Dick Winters, Dan Webster, Shifty Powers, Liebgott, Nixon, and Peconte. But, if you are a parent and are wondering about this movie, it is extremely graphic in its portrayal of wartime films. It is TV-MA for intense prolonged realistically graphic sequences of horrific war violence, related grisly images, strong pervasive language, a sex scene, n-dity, and drinking and smoking throughout. SEE IT.

Band of Brothers is an awe inspiring and visually stunning tribute, not only to Easy Company, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, but to the "Greatest Generation." But for their sacrifices, would we share the freedoms we so cherish and covet to our vests today! Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg deserve all of the awards and accolades they received for bringing this epic to HBO and now this incredible DVD box set!
