I have always understood the Muslims to accept Jesus as a Prophet of old, but not the Messiah because Muslims do not believe that Allah would allow a Son to go through such suffering and pain. The Quran also has its' own version of what Christ said and did that is different to the Bible.
Jesus: Prophet sent from God. He was not killed and was raised to heaven. The guy who betrade him was the one who was crucified because God gave him the same look/face as jesus and the jews crucified him thinking that he is jesus.
More Info: Before the end of the world, Jesus is waited to come down from heaven in Jerusalem and lead the muslims. Thats one of the reasons that make's Jerusalem second holy city after mecca.
We do not celebrate christian holidays or jewish or any. We have our own.
You don't celebrate our holidays or jewish holidays

Actually senaia, I used to think this as well..about someone else being put on the cross. But I recently was reading the Quran and discovered that it does NOT say this in the Quran. It is just interpretation. What it DOES say is that he was not killed because God raised him body and soul into heaven. But how this happened, is not explained, and is just interpretation.
Also, we believe is one of many Prophets, and we respect him VERY MUCH. We do believe he is the messiah, as he is going to return. However, we do not believe he is God's son, as we believe God neither begets nor is begotten. We believe he is called "son" for the same reason many other people in the bible are called "son": God created all of us, and in that way, we are all his children.
peace.
Please, can you share reference material for what you are saying: quotes from the Quran or Imam / Cleric? Otherwise it is seen as opinion and should be stated as such. Especially so, because I still do not understand this concept at all and would like to see some material about it.
Offtopic but, You will notice that at the top of this Board there is a link to an in house Quran for convenience. |
